Scheduling for tox injections!!
Intravenous (IV) hydration therapy is a way to give nutrients, vitamins, medications, and hydration directly into the bloodstream. This allows rapid absorption of nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and medications. These are delivered through a small tube or catheter inserted into a vein. Infusions can take up to one hour.
As with any IV treatment there is a possibility of infection or a burning sensation at the injection site. In those with heart conditions or high blood pressure, an IV hydration infusion could cause fluid overload. Some vitamins and minerals can cause upset stomach or insomnia. Some people may experience dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting. The safety of IV hydration therapy in pregnant and breastfeeding women has not been studied and is not advised.
A consultation with a provider and a focused physical exam will determine a treatment plan so that you can make an informed decision about you IV therapy. Next a small plastic catheter (IV) is inserted into your vein. The IV infusion is mixed and infused over 30-60 minutes. Once complete, the IV catheter is removed.
Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not receive IV therapy as the effects of high dose vitamins has not been tested on fetal development and has not been researched. People who have heart problems, retain fluid, or have kidney problems should not receive infusions.
